With Game of Thrones currently putting its seventh season together, the hugely popular series has brought in Jim Broadbent.

A staple of British TV and movies for the past several decades, Broadbent is likely best known to global audiences for playing Professor Slughorn in the Harry Potter franchise. No details are known on what role he’ll play in Thrones at this early stage, although it’s believed to be a significant one.

Season 7 of Game of Thrones is set to shoot in Northern Ireland, Spain, and Iceland over the coming months, with the show to return a little later than usual. Rather than the April season premiere, instead Season 7 will arrive on a TBC summer 2017 date.

With the series getting ever-nearer to finishing, the upcoming season and the following one will both be seven-episode affairs rather than the usual ten-episode seasons. After that, the current plan is for Game of Thrones to call it a day.
