Jesus Christ, our Lord, our saviour… our zombie slayer?

Yes, you read the heading right: Jesus is heading to The Walking Dead. No, not the carpenter chap who had a way of getting the most out of a meal, but Paul Monroe.

Taken straight from the comic books, AMC’s Walking Dead has cast Tom Payne as Paul “Jesus” Monroe. Payne is best known for the likes of Luck and Waterloo Road. As for the character of Jesus himself, comic book-wise he becomes one of Rick Grimes’ most trusted allies down to his sense of his logic and justice. To steal a line from The Big Lebowski, “Nobody fucks with the Jesus!”

This new addition will debut at some point during the upcoming Season 6, although no further details have been given at this stage.
