With David Ayer now confirmed to be helming SUICIDE SQUAD for Warner Brothers, this last week has seen speculation that the likes of Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Will Smith are being eyed for roles in the villain-centric film. In addition to those names, now comes word from Deadline that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is being eyed for an appearance in the movie, with the actor in talks with Warners about reprising the role he’ll take on in BATMAN V SUPERMAN.

If recent rumour is to be believed, the cinematic Suicide Squad will consist of Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Mulitplex, Blockbuster, Jaculi, Mindboggler, and Vixen. Could Superman’s greatest foe be about to join this rag-tag bunch of rogues in some capacity? It certainly seems like a possibility at this stage.

Since debuting back in 1959, the Suicide Squad has been made up of a rotating roster of villains, such as those mentioned plus the likes of Deathstroke, Count Vertigo, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Frost, King Shark, and Harley Quinn.

Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD is scheduled for an August 5th, 2016 release, whilst Eisenberg’s Luthor will definitely be a big part of Zack Snyder’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, set for a March 25th, 2016 release.
