We recently brought news that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye may be set for a significant role in the Russo brother’s CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 (see here). Of course, for months there’s been regular speculation that Hawkeye may actually bite the bullet during Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Speaking on LARRY KING NOW, the actor has finally addressed those “death” rumours. Be warned, there may be some spoilers ahead.

SPOILERS (you’ve been warned…)

When asked outright if his character dies in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Renner replied, “No, no. No, I don’t die. I think they want to keep me around for a while.”

Comments like that are only going to further add to those rumours of Hawkeye appearing in CAP 3, and many feel that this is one character who has been short-changed in the MCU so far. An ever-so-brief appearance in THOR was followed by AVENGERS: ASSEMBLE, where he was essentially brainwashed for a major part of the movie, so here’s hoping that AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and possibly CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 can give fans the Hawkeye that they want to see.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is released in the UK on April 24th, with CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 confirmed for a May 6th, 2016 release.
