Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT is set to start shooting towards the end of this year, and now comes word that the famed writer/director has found the leading lady for his latest adventure. The Wrap reports that Jennifer Jason Leigh, best known for THE ROAD TO PERDITION and THE MACHINIST, will take on the role of Daisy Domergue in QT’s first film since the brilliantly-received DJANGO UNCHAINED.

Set in Wyoming in the aftermath of the Civil War, the plot of THE HATEFUL EIGHT centres on a stagecoach that ends up stranded in a snow storm. The passengers seek up refuge in a nearby bar, although tensions are high between the group. At the core of the tale will be two bounty hunters, to be played by Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell, a local sheriff, a no-nonsense female prisoner (Leigh’s role), and a group of four suspicious men who may or may not be planning to free the prisoner who is wanted for murder and who is due to hang for her crimes.

THE HATEFUL EIGHT is due to start filming in December.
