After much speculation, and some backtracking in the last series, it’s been confirmed that Jenna Coleman will be leaving Doctor Who.

Her character, Clara, who has been in the show for three years after being introduced as ‘The Impossible Girl’, confirmed that she has already filmed her last scenes. She will now go on to play young Queen Victoria in an ITV drama.

According to reports the companion will make her exit in November, during the episode Face the Raven, and will be killed off. Mind, knowing showrunner Steven Moffat’s tendency to make death a temporary state in the past, we’ll have to wait and see.

The new series of Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi’s second in the role of the Time Lord, begins on BBC One tomorrow (September 19th) at 7.40pm.
