CBS’ upcoming Star Trek: Discovery has found the captain of its titular ship!

The network has confirmed that Jason Isaacs has joined the show as Captain Lorca, the skipper of the Starship Discovery. The Liverpool-born actor will be best known to genre fans for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, as Captain Hook in 2003’s Peter Pan, lending his vocals to Star Wars Rebels’ Inquisitor, and for voicing the villainous likes of Ra’s al Ghul, Lex Luthor and Sinestro in various DC animated efforts.

In addition to this news, Baskets’ Mary Wiseman has also join the series as Cadet Tilly, a young Starfleet Academy Cadet in her final year of study and who has been assigned to the Discovery.

Isaacs and Wiseman join a cast that already includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet’s Admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as Connor, Shazad Latif as Kol, Chis Obi as T’Kuvma, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, Michelle Yeaoh, and James Frain as the father of Spock, Sarek.

Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS and then CBS All Access later this year in the US, whilst the majority of other countries (including the UK) will be able to check out the show on Netflix.
