With Shane Black currently working on a new Predator movie, it may be that James Franco is wanted to headline the film.

Whilst there’s no confirmation on this news just yet, PopcornTalk is reporting that Franco is currently the top choice to take the leading role of Quinn McKenna in Black’s The Predator. It has to be stressed, this is only merely a rumour right now so don’t take it as gospel just yet.

Franco has taken on a wide variety of projects throughout his career, but it remains to be seen whether a Predator film is something that he’d end up doing. There’s no doubt that the actor – known to genre fans for the likes of Freaks and Geeks, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Oz the Great and Powerful, and the recent impressive 11.22.63 mini-series – would bring an instant shot of name value and credibility to The Predator, particularly with many having soured on the franchise following two problematic Alien vs. Predator movies and the so-so Predators.

At present, The Predators is due to start shooting in Vancouver later this year ahead of a February 9th, 2018 release.
