With James Cromwell signing on for Juan Antonio Bayona’s upcoming Jurassic World sequel earlier this year, now comes some details on what his role will be in the follow-up to Colin Trevorrow’s hugely impressive 2015 movie.

Speaking to Larry King, Cromwell has revealed he plays a character with ties to Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park picture. As the actor explained, “The character Richard Attenborough played, I’m his partner Benjamin Lockwood. We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes, and so I’m trying to deal with the blow back from what we have done.”

Given this reveal, it stands to reason that this character should have just a small bit of beef with B.D. Wong’s Dr. Wu due to the small matter of creating the Indominus Rex that caused so much chaos in Jurassic World.

Already confirmed to join Cromwell for this upcoming sequel are Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Rafe Spall, and, as revealed only a matter of days ago, Jeff Goldblum.

At present, the still-to-be-titled Jurassic World sequel is set for a June 22nd, 2018 release.
