Petit Hughie (read: Jack Quaid) is moving into scripted podcasts, Deadline reveals. The Boys star has joined the voice line-up of Echoverse’s series Grim Death and Bill The Electrocuted Criminal, which hails from Hellboy’s Mike Mignola and author Thomas Sniegoski.

The two are now adapting their graphic novel into an audio series, with Quaid starring as Bentley Hawthorne, aka Grim Death. The story is set in a city in which organised crime begins to take over entirely, threatening the lives of the city’s residents. Grim Death, an agent in the service of Death whose mission is to avenge the wrongful deaths of those in need of justice, takes it upon himself to prevent a war from breaking out.

Helped by an acerbic raven named Roderick, his long-suffering butler Pym, and stubborn investigative journalist Gwendolyn, Grim Death sets out to avenge dead ex-con Bill the Electrocuted Criminal, a strong but gentle man wrongfully convicted of the murder of his trapeze-artist girlfriend Tianna. No news yet on who else might be rounding out the podcast’s voice cast.

Jack Quaid was recently seen in the latest Scream film and heard in Star Trek: Lower Decks. He’ll next be spotted in the Christopher Nolan historical epic Oppenheimer.
