Jack Kesy Lands DEADPOOL 2 Villain Role

With 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 currently bringing its cast together, the sequel has now found one of its villains.

As per Deadline, The Strain’s Jack Kesy has landed a to-be-confirmed ‘big bad’ role in the movie, with current speculation suggesting he’ll be playing Black Tom Cassidy. In the comic book realm, Black Tom debuted back in 1976’s Uncanny X-Men #101 and has largely been seen as an X-Men villain in the ensuing years, particularly due to his hatred of his cousin, Banshee. Throughout those years, though, he’s also been known to tangle with the Merc with a Mouth at times, too. In terms of abilities, Black Tom’s main powers centre on projecting energy through wooden objects and plant life.

Whilst we’re yet to get anything official on Kesy’s character in Deadpool 2, we know that he’ll find himself butting heads with Reynolds’ Chiyonosake, Zazie Beetz’s Domino, and Josh Brolin’s Cable. Leslie Uggams will also be back as Blind Al, as well as Brianna Hildebrand returning as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin returning as Vanessa, and Stefan Kapicic once again lending his vocals to Colossus. Recent rumours also suggested that X-Force members Sunspot, Feral and Shatterstar will appear in the film, although that’s yet to be confirmed at this stage.

To be directed by John Wick’s David Leitch, Deadpool 2 is currently set for a June 1st, 2018 release.
