Although the second season of popular comedy drama series iZombie has now come to a close in the US with a third already commissioned, for some reason it never made its way across the Atlantic. However, once again Netflix has come to the rescue for us denied British viewers, with the show being added to its UK roster.

The series centres on morgue attendant Liv Moore, who was transformed into a zombie during a massacre at a boat party caused by initially mysterious reasons. Unlike most interpretations of the walking undead, Liv is able to retain her humanity and sanity as long as she regularly consumes human brains, and doing so she is granted flashes of the deceased’s memories while also taking on some of their personality traits (an episode where she adopted the characteristics of an erotica author – “horny librarian brain” – is a particular highlight). The visions allow her to help solve murders with homicide detective Clive Babineaux by pretending to be a psychic, while her morgue colleague Ravi attempts to synthesise a cure for her condition.
