Ahead of its debut later this year, an impressive new poster has arrived for Marvel’s Luke Cage.

This isn’t just any poster though, for this has been designed by the legendary Joe Quesada, who is not only a fan favourite artist but also Marvel Entertainment’s Chief Creating Officer. The poster will be made available for purchase at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.

On creating the poster, Quesada said, “There’s always great pressure with superhero posters. You’ve got one shot to encapsulate a character with a pose that’s provocative and that you hope will someday be iconic.”

On Marvel’s Luke Cage itself, the official synopsis reads:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Having debuted in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter will be reprising the role of Luke Cage, and he’ll be joined by Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Rosario Dawson will be back as Claire Temple.

Marvel’s Luke Cage will premiere on Netflix on September 30th.
