Mickey Rourke and Mena Suvari have been announced by Deadline to topline the upcoming film Hunt Club, an action thriller which is directed by Elizabeth Blake-Thomas from a script written by David Lipper and John F. Saunders.

The film centres on a group of male hunters who routinely lure women to their remote island with the promise of a 100K cash prize for the hunt. Except for this time, these men pick the wrong three girls – and soon find they are the ones being hunted. From the description alone, think The Hunt meets Surviving the Game by way of Death Proof.

Also starring are Casper Van Dien (Alita: Battle Angel), Maya Stojan (American Sicario, Senior Moment), Will Peltz (13 Minutes, Unfriended, the upcoming Man’s Son), and Jessica Belkin (Wish I Was There).

Suvari is best known for her role in Sam Mendes’ American Beauty, and will next be seen in Kevin Lewis’ horror The Accursed and the Michael Ryan sci-fi thriller The Dresden Sun opposite Christina Ricci. Rourke, meanwhile, was the Oscar-nominated lead of Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler, and also starred in Sin City, Angel Heart, 3 Days Rising and Iron Man 2.

Hunt Club recently wrapped production in Mississippi, though no release date has yet been announced.
