Thought the cinematic Hunger Games were finished? Maybe not…

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate’s Michael Burns has suggested that there could be further Hungers Games movies on the way. Speaking at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York, Burns compared the franchise to Harry Potter in the sense that it “will live on and on.”

He went on to add, “The one thing that kids say they missed was there were no arenas. If we went backwards, there obviously would be arenas.” What Burns is referring to here is the stadiums where contestants do battle in the franchise, with the movies having only featured the 74th and 75th competitions.

What was equally as interesting was that Burns also suggested that we could be getting prequels, sequels or reboots for the likes of Twilight, The Expendables and Saw.

As ever, expect more on all of this as and when it develops. In the meantime, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is currently still in cinemas.
