There’s been plenty of speculation claiming that Hugh Jackman will be finished up as Logan after Wolverine 3, and now the actor has confirmed that will indeed be the case.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Jackman revealed, “It is my last time. It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we’re doing in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”

No plot details are known on Wolverine 3 at this stage, although many are hoping for some sort of Old Man Logan tale for Jackman’s send off. What is known is that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X will be involved somehow. If remains to be seen whether Wolverine will appear in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, currently set for May 27th, 2016.

To be directed by James Mangold, Wolverine 3 is currently set for March 3rd, 2017.
