July is set to get even hotter – on Horror Channel on Saturdays, at least – as a host of great movies make their network and UK TV premieres.

Kicking things off on July 1st with some serious fallout is the UK TV Premiere of Brad Parker’s urban explorer shocker Chernobyl Diaries (2012), in which a group of tourists stranded in the deserted village that used to house the workers of the stricken nuclear plant.

July 8th sees the Network Premiere of Todd Lincoln’s The Apparition (2012), a terrifying paranormal shocker that stars Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan). This is followed a week later with the first channel showing for the genuine cult classic Phantasm (1979). Don Coscarelli’s revered nightmare stars the late Angus Scrimm as the sinister Tall Man – a mortician who’s killing and reanimating the dead. What out for the deadly sphere!

The Possession of Michael King (2014) has a documentary filmmaker searching for the existence of the supernatural. Directed by David Jung, it’s receiving its UK TV Premiere. Finally, the chilling home invasion film Open House (2010) makes its debut on the channel on July 29th. Directed by Andrew Paquin and starring his sister, Anna Paquin along with Stephen Moyer, it might put you off letting people come and view your house when it’s for sale.
