We thought that hearing that King Arthur and Merlin would be a part of Transformers: The Last Knight was as weird as it could get, but now it looks like we could well be wrong…

Not only will Arthur and Merlin have a part to play in The Last Knight, it’s now been revealed that both Adolph Hitler and Sir Winston Churchill will have a presence in the fifth of Michael Bay’s Transformers movie.

The below image from FameFlyNet came out on social media over the weekend, prompting plenty of outrage at what is a Nazi flag raised at Churchill’s childhood home, Blenheim Palace:

Playing down the uproar, Bay told the BBC, “There’s a thing I saw in the paper about Blenheim, and I just want to say that people were not fortunate enough to read the script. They don’t know that Churchill, in this movie, is a big hero and Churchill would be smiling about last night.”

With Sir Anthony Hopkins already confirmed to have a mystery role in The Last Knight, new rumours suggest that Hopkins could actually be playing Churchill in the film. As for Hitler himself, there’s no news on who may be playing him in the movie at this stage, although it seems as if Hitler and the Decepticons may well be teaming up to do battle with Churchill, Mark Wahlberg, the Autobots, King Arthur and Merlin. And yes, that sounds as bonkers to us as it likely does to you.

Transformers: The Last Knight is currently in post-production ahead of a June 23rd, 2017 release.
