From the studio that brought you CHILD OF LIGHT and the devastating VALIANT HEARTS, under the banner of perennial quality mongers Ubisoft, comes another game so charming it’ll make your head spin. The beauty of Ubisoft is in its ability to balance mega-budget AAA games alongside smaller, more introspective titles.

GROW HOME is the next in this trend, boasting the same level of quirkiness in what looks set to be another deeply personal gaming experience. The British based Ubisoft Reflections claims the title is inspired by green-fingered fable WALL-E and the funnier-than-thou HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. What started life as simply an experiment to amuse staff in-house soon developed for commercial use.

The game puts you in control of BUD (Botanical Utility Droid), who’s a strong contender for cutest robot. His job is to grow a plant which will provide enough oxygen for his home planet. As the plant grows and grows, BUD is soon able to climb, eventually reaching an impressive two kilometre height, and collecting the seeds to create others.

Set in a polygon world, with some familiar game mechanics (bouncing off leaves, etc), GROW HOME looks set to be the next surprise hit from the studio. The game is set for a February 4th release for PC.
