To celebrate the festival of Samhain, and as part of the BFI’s ‘Days of Fear and Wonder’ sci-fi season, GRIMM UP NORTH have teamed up with FILM HUB NORTH WEST CENTRAL to line up some great cinematic treats in Manchester. A trio of legendary directors will be showcased in double bills at MoSI (The Museum of Science and Industry) in Castlefield, while RAD (RETRO AND DANGEROUS) SCREENINGS take over Gorilla to host a pair of spooky comedies.

Starting on October 29th with Terry Gilliam’s BRAZIL and TWELVE MONKEYS, the season continues with Paul Verhoeven’s TOTAL RECALL and STARSHIP TROOPERS (Oct 30th) and concludes on Halloween night with Ridley Scott’s seminal ALIEN and the not-really a prequel follow up, PROMETHEUS (Oct 31st)

Each evening will kick off with a special introduction from guest speakers at 6.30pm. Films will start at 7.00pm prompt, with a 30min interval between films.

Tickets for each special double bill event will cost £12.50 or a three event pass will cost £30.00.

(Booking fees apply) Tickets can be purchased on the door, but pre-booking from www.grimmfest.com is recommended.

The RAD screening takes place on Halloween night at Gorilla on Whitworth Street, and features HOCUS POCUS and Tim Burton’s superb BEETLEJUICE.

The doors are at 6pm with the first screening at 6.30pm, and will be finished by 10pm.

Tickets are £8.00 in advance – and there’ll be plenty of Halloween-themed movie food available on the night!
