Given how March’s Batman v Superman is laying the foundations for the cinematic Justice League, it came as a little of a surprise to see no mention of Green Lantern playing a part in the film. Sure, putting Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg in one movie may seem a little overkill at this stage, but the absence of any Green Lantern mention suggested to some that the Emerald Knight wasn’t going to be a part of this JL team. Well, now comes confirmation that the Justice League will feature at least one Lantern.

We’ve known that a GL movie, titled Green Lantern Corps, was being lined up for 2020, and now we know that the Corps will have some presence in Zack Snyder’s two-part Justice League effort. The news was confirmed by Geoff Johns during the Dawn of the Justice League TV special that he presented with Kevin Smith.

Fresh from the earlier first footage from Wonder Woman and first looks at Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg, now comes video confirmation of this news:

Where Green Lantern Corps is concerned, obviously we’ll be treated to a whole host of Green Lanterns, but it’s believed that Hal Jordan and John Stewart will be the main focus of the film. With this recent news of a GL presence in Justice League, chances are we’ll get at least one of Jordan and Stewart appearing.

At present, Justice League Part One is set for a November 2017 release, Justice League Part Two is set for June 2019, and Green Lantern Corps will arrive in June 2020.
