With Nathan Darrow having been cast as Mr. Freeze earlier in the week, now comes word that Gotham has found its Hugo Strange.

FOX has revealed that Jurassic World’s BD Wong has landed the role of the show’s Professor Strange, with this version of the character being described as “altruistic, but he harbors a dark secret” that will make him “Gotham’s greatest threat.” Standard bad guy mantra then.

In the comic book realm, Hugo Strange has been around since 1940’s Detective Comics #36, dating him as one of the Dark Knight’s longest-standing rogues. He also had the distinction of being the first villain to decipher that Batman and Bruce Wayne were one and the same. A genius with a penchant for the sciences and psychology, Strange has been more recently put in the public eye by his various appearances in the Arkham video games.

Gotham’s second season has already begun in the US, with the show’s UK return set for early next year.
