Earlier this year, it was revealed that
Sony Pictures was developing a Spider-Verse of movies based around certain
supporting players of ol’ Web-head. Now while that world won’t actually feature a Spider-Man right now (we know, we’re still
a tad confused by this approach, too), what we do know is that two movies are
being developed right now – those being a Tom Hardy-headlined Venom movie and a
team-up effort focussing on Silver Sable and Black Cat. And now comes news that
said team-up picture has found a director.
As per The
Hollywood Reporter, Gina Prince-Bythewood has been brought in to helm the
Sable and Cat movie – which has now been titled Silver and Black. Prince-Bythewood is best known for directing the
likes of Love and Basketball and The Secret Life of Bees. Thor: The Dark World’s Chris Yost has
been working on the script, with Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal producing.
