Talk about overdue…

George A. Romero has finally been awarded his own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. And about time, too!

One of the all-time greatest names in horror, Romero’s addition to the Walk of Fame was announced earlier this week via Vin Di Bona. As well as the Godfather of the Dead, other new additions include Goldie Hawn, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo and Amy Adams.

Romero famously popularized the subgenre of zombie movies with his 1968 Night of the Living Dead. The writer/director then went on to give audiences further Dead offerings with Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead, not to mention other iconic films such as The Crazies, Martin, Monkey Shines and his work on the beloved Creepshow.

To us and to many others, George A. Romero is one of the most legendary names in not just horror, but in genre as a whole entity. A huge congratulations from all at STARBURST on this long-overdue achievement.
