The David Gemmell Awards for Fantasy will take place at Nine Worlds Geekfest in London’s Heathrow at 8pm on Saturday, August 8th.

The awards are aimed at fantasy and their works. There are three in total; the Legend Award for Best Fantasy Novel, the Morningstar Award for Best Fantasy Debut, and the Ravenheart Award for Best Fantasy Cover Art. Previous winners of the Legend Award include the likes of Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, and Graham McNeil.

The Legend Award is particularly sought after as it is a high profile accolade. The trophy also happens to be a unique, scale model of the legendary axe of Druss the Legend, created by Raven Armoury. The blades of the axe are laser-etched with the winner’s name & novel.

Nine Worlds GeekFest is a gaming, film, cosplay, fandom, literature, science, geek culture and all things fandom related convention that launched in 2013. It has gained a huge reputation for being highly inclusive and featuring a huge of amount of content.  This year, it will run from August 7th – 9th at London, Heathrow.
