Author Neil Gaiman is well-loved for his supernatural storytelling across comic books, novels, film, and TV, and he’s just announced his first foray into videogames.

Inspired by his childhood love for films such as ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and BLITHE SPIRIT, Gaiman’s game WAYWARD MANOR will put the player into the ghostly shoes of a spirit haunting the halls of a 1920s New England estate. The aim of the game is to spy on the hapless inhabitants, work out the best way to freak them out, and, in the process, uncover more about your character’s own life and death.

WAYWARD MANOR is being developed by The Odd Gentleman, who have experience in puzzle-based gaming with 2010’s well-received THE MISADVENTURES OF P.B. WINTERBOTTOM.

The game is due to haunt your PC, Mac, or tablet this autumn, but for the intrepid fan who just can’t wait, there’s a plethora of bonuses available at the official site http://whohauntsneil.com/ – including the chance to have dinner with Neil himself! If you have a spare $10,000, that is…
