Who really expected the Tomb Raider reboot to give Lara the believable and engaging storyline fans had been waiting for, as well as capturing that same excitement and energy of the first few games? Crystal Dynamic’s TOMB RAIDER was released a year ago this week and while it had a few minor issues, it was a great game that really breathed new life into a stale franchise, allowing Lara to step outside the constricting limits of her character.

The game initially failed to garner the kind of sales Square Enix had expected, though it did the rounds and earned a decent name for itself. The game was given the next-gen overhaul and recently released on the X-Box One and Playstation 4. Sales are expected to pass the 6 million mark by the end of March, making the title the bestselling Tomb Raider game in the series. Not bad for a game from Derbyshire.
