The Eye of Dante has users join The Order (those demon hunting folk from the DmC universe) and undertake quests and achieve goals to attain points towards their style ranking. Use of the smartphone allows you to discover hidden messages behind real-world items (mirroring Dante’s abilities in the game), using augmented reality. Success is rewarded with Red Orbs (DmC in game currency) which can redeemed in DmC: Devil May Cry as well as exclusive wallpapers and ringtones.

This app is of course just another support release for DmC: Devil May Cry, but at least they’re engaging gamers and providing rewards, plus as it’s free we really can’t complain.

The Eye of Dante is available now from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and is free.

DmC: Devil May Cry is released on PS3 and XBox 360 on January 15th 2013.
