For those of you lucky enough to remember the arse-end of the ’80’s you’ll no doubt have fond memories of a curmudgeonly Scottish duck swimming about in a pool full of coins. Well Capcom and developer WayForward have some good news for you – Ducktales is returning!! (to your console)…

Ducktales Remastered takes the original 1989 release as its base then expands upon it to enhance the gameplay, sound and visuals. Indeed all of the visuals have been taken from their 8-bit glory, and re-created as hand-drawn animated sprites. They’ve also drafted in a slew of original Disney voice talent as well. Got to hand it to the “House of Mouse”, they don’t mess around.

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s the trailer (you can thank me for the song in your head later next week). The rest of you, sing along…

The game will also feature a new tutorial level as well as ‘Scrooge McDuck’s Museum’ where one can share their stats on the obligatory global leaderboards (not sure this one’s going to carry as much cred as C.O.D.).

Ducktales Remastered is scheduled for a Summer 2013 digital release on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii-U.
