Nintendo of America has announced today via twitter that the long awaited PIKMIN 3 will be launched on August 4th in North America.

Additionally, it was revealed in the new installment of Nintendo Direct that besides the new Rock Pikmin, Winged Pikmin will also be introduced in the game. With their ability to fly, they can bypass water and carry items in the air. A snippet of gameplay showed the Winged Pikmin attacking a flying enemy and bringing it to the ground.

Nintendo instructed gamers to be patient, saying that more details about the game will be released as the launch date approaches.
