DARK SOULS passed under the radar for many gamers, instead earning kudos points among more dedicated and underground fraternities of the gaming collective. Little by little information surrounding the game trickled into the mainstream. Picture this, a game so forensically difficult you’ll die over and over; there’s no discernible plot line, instead, you and a community of gamers have to figure that one out for yourselves. Though many only know the game due to its infamous difficulty, it brought it to the attention of the masses, and for many it was the game they had been waiting for.

It’s no surprise then that the follow-up, DARK SOULS 2, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2014. A gameplay trailer was released last year giving fans an insight into the mechanics of the game, the freedoms and limitations, though it didn’t wholly satisfy the question of whether or not it would live up to the acclaimed difficulty of its predecessor.

Namco Bandai have now released a trailer ensuring players that death is coming. The 3 minute trailer showcases a variety of nasties that’ll consume hours of gametime after its release in spring. There’s a glimpse into the troubled kingdom of Drangleic. Even at this stage a narrative can be pieced together. It looks set to live up to expectation…

 

DARK SOULS 2 is release March 11th on Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC release is expected after.
