It’s the job that many a war-gaming geek has always claimed they have wanted.  Toy soldier giant GAMES WORKSHOP is advertising for a new Chief Executive Officer.

The role is currently being managed by Tom Kirby, who is stepping down from the role as CEO on the first of January 2015, though he intends to stay on as a non-executive chairman, if the board will allow it. The company is famous for high quality miniatures, intricately detailed worlds and ability to spark the imagination of anyone who likes action and weirdness, especially in the realms of both fantasy and sci-fi.

GAMES WORKSHOP also has a reputation for bewildering price changes, hard to come by release schedules and being a little too eager to threaten legal action. Kirby has been in an executive role in the company since 1991 and throughout his tenure has taken the bulk of the criticism for many of the seemingly erratic policies that have confused and upset fans over the years.

For decades, many fans have held forth about how they would lead the Nottingham-based sci-fi and fantasy factory to greater heights; if only those in charge would listen. Well, now they are looking for a new leader, and all you have to do is write a letter presenting your credentials. Kirby himself has claimed that GAMES WORKSHOP ‘recruit for attitude and not for skill’, so that could mean that if you have the right attitude then you could be in charge of this internationally famous games company.

Brave souls should consult GAMES WORKSHOP’s recruitment page here before drafting their plans for world domination through the use of 28mm scale tanks. We wish all applicants the best of luck.
