One of the hottest new shows on TV is unquestionably FX’s Legion. Already, the Dan Stevens-starrer has become must-watch weekly viewing for many a genre fan, and those same fans will be delighted to know that the series has been renewed for a second season.

FX themselves confirmed the news, with a statement from the network reading, “The first season of Legion was a stunning achievement. More than a new series, Legion is a wholly original take on the superhero genre. Our thanks to Noah Hawley for taking the creative risks and shattering expectations. It’s a privilege to work again with Noah, his producing partners, the outstanding cast and our partners at marvel Television on another season of Legion.”

For Marvel’s part, Jeph Loeb enthused, “We are thrilled there will be a new season of Legion. Noah’s spectacular take on David Haller and all the other characters he brought to life makes us ache for more. We’re particularly proud of our partners at FX and the success we share on our first TV series together.”

As alluded to, executive producer/showrunner Noah Hawley will be back for Season 2 of the show, and Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory and John Cameron will also be back in a producing capacity.

Legion is currently midway through its debut season at the moment, and the show can be found on FOX here in the UK. For those not familiar with the series, Dan Stevens’ David Haller has been diagnosed as schizophrenic since he was a young child. The son of none other than Charles Xavier, one day it soon dawns on David that maybe the voices he’s always heard in his head are more real than he ever believed.
