And there we have it. After months of speculation, the official title of the first of the new STAR WARS trilogy has been revealed. From this day forward, J.J. Abrams upcoming jaunt to a galaxy far, far away will be officially known as STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Additionally, Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm dropped the below banner to confirm the news.

No exact plot details have been released at this stage, although there’s plenty of rumours out there floating in hyperspace. With the title reveal now out of the way, surely plot specifics are just around the corner, right? Right? We sure hope so.

Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domnhall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS is currently set for a December 18th, 2015 release.
