With Alden Ehrenreich now on board to star as the young Han Solo, the upcoming Solo-focussed ‘Star Wars Story’ movie is now on the hunt for its female lead.

According to Variety, Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm have had three actress come in and read for the role. The names in the frame are Creed’s Tessa Thompson, X-Men: First Class’ Zoe Kravitz, and Terra Nova’s Naomi Scott. At this time, there’s nothing concrete on just who the female character will be, although there’s some speculation that it could well end up being Sana Starros, an acquaintance of Han’s who was introduced in Marvel’s Star Wars comics… and somebody who even initially claimed to be Mrs Han Solo.

Elsewhere, as previously reported, it’s still believed that Donald Glover is the top choice to play Lando Calrissian in the movie, although nothing has been officially announced on that front as of yet.

As for the film itself, it will be the second of Disney’s Star Wars Story efforts, following on from Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that’s in cinemas this December.

To be directed by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, from a screenplay from Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, the film will centre on how Han Solo became the loveable scoundrel who we were first introduced to in Mos Eisley back in 1977.

At present, this currently-untitled Solo effort is set for a May 25th, 2018 release.
