Frontières has announced details of their presence at the eighth Fantasia International Film Festival, which takes place in Montreal on July 12st – 24th.

The event is a showcase for upcoming productions and allows filmmakers to finance their films and gain much-needed support.

Among the fantastic genre movies highlighted are projects from Canadian production/sales/distribution house Raven Banner Entertainment, a TV series based on Kier-la Janiesse’s brilliant book House of Psychotic Women, and numerous horror features. Some that have caught our attention are a feature-length version of Fume Films’ award-winning short The Stomach, and in the very first Raven Banner Showcase strand, the feature début of writer/director Jerry Pyle, Sanctum. Pyle has been on the STARBURST radar for some time thanks to his awesome shorts Burn and Service (you can view the latter below).

The industry registration for Frontières is open now, but the deadline for Market guide listing is June 20th.  You can find out more and see the full list of projects here. We’re looking forward to seeing what great films get produced, and wish all the filmmakers involved well.
