The line-up has been announced for this year’s Film4 FrightFest Glasgow, which takes place during the Glasgow Film Festival between Thursday, February 25th and Saturday 27th.

The 11th event held in Scotland sees a whole host of eagerly-awaited films screened over the three days, beginning with the UK Premiere of Jason Zada’s The Forest, starring Natalie Dormer at a special Gala night on Thursday.
More UK firsts follow on the Friday with The Hexecutioners, the latest from Jesse Thomas Cook, the director of Monster Brawl. Anguish marks the directorial debut of Sonny Mallhi, the producer of The Strangers and Shutter among others. A stellar star cast including Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack head up Cell, getting a World Premiere at the festival. The Mind’s Eye is another UK first, while Patchwork is a European Premiere.

Norwegian disaster movie The Wave opens the final day, which also includes the UK Premiere of the latest from the team that brought us V/H/S, Southbound. Following a Preview screening of SPL2: A Time for Consequences, there’s the European Premiere of The Other Side of the Door – the latest from producer Alexandre Aja and directed by Johannes Roberts (F, Storage 24). Baskin promises to test the mettle of horror fans, as will the American remake of the shocking French classic Martyrs. Film4 FrightFest Glasgow closes with the UK Premiere of the new film from The Loved Ones’ Sean Byne, The Devil’s Candy.

As usual, the festival will host plenty of Q&A sessions with guest stars from the films, and Paul Hyett will be in attendance with a sneak preview of his new film Heretiks.

Co-organiser Alan Jones said: “After its biggest year ever, raising the terror landscape bar in August and our diversification into other major media platforms, FrightFest returns to its beloved Glasgow Film Festival with a programme that celebrates the ground-breaking, the innovative, the unique, the extreme but most essentially all that’s best and keynote about the action horror fantasy genre.  So please be seated for the frights of your lives!
