One of the most hotly-anticipated video games for many genre fans right now is Gun Media’s upcoming Friday the 13th: The Game. Well that game has now finally been given a release date.

The wait is over, and Jason will begin his latest rampage on May 26th. The game will be available as a digital download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and through Steam on PC. Pricing for the game has it set at $40, which equates to approximately £32.

For anyone who’s been keeping up with the game, excitement is mega high for the fact that it serves as canon and will actually have elements that continue the story following Jason Goes to Hell – so much so, the legendary Tom Savini has even created a special version of Jason for the game. Oh, and Kane freakin’ Hodder has performed motion capture for Jason, while Harry Manfredini has provided music!

In the game, players will have the chance to either play as Jason or as one of the poor counsellors who are the target of Mrs. Voorhees’ baby boy.
