One of the most hotly-anticipated video games for many a horror hound is the upcoming Friday the 13th: The Game. Sadly, now comes word that the game has been delayed.

No exact release date had been given for the game, but it was expected to arrive at some point this month. Now, Friday the 13th: The Game won’t actually be released until Summer 2017.

With the game having actually began life as a Kickstarter campaign known as Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp, those who took park in the crowdfunding aspect will actually have early access to beta before 2016 is out. That early access will also include key codes to make the game sharable with 4 friends.

Additionally, IGN is reporting that the full multiplayer element of the game will be made available early next year, including having Tommy Jarvis as a playable character and having Packanack Lodge as a playable map. The single player release will then follow in Summer 2017.
