The second half of last year brought news that a TV show based on Vertigo’s LUCIFER was being developed. Now comes confirmation that FOX has officially ordered a pilot for the show, and that UNDERWORLD director and SLEEPY HOLLOW co-creator Len Wiseman will be overseeing the project, with Jerry Bruckheimer also serving as an executive producer.

After his debut in SANDMAN, the Lucifer character was spun-off to his own titular solo title in 2000, which would run for 75 issues until 2006. The TV series will pull inspiration from this, seeing Lucifer bored with life as the Lord of Hell and so he gives up his crown and moves to Los Angeles. From there, he helps the LAPD punish criminals.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
