After four seasons, FOX has moved to cancel Sleepy Hollow following steadily declining ratings.

Debuting back in late 2013, the present-day adventures of Ichabod Crane were initially a ratings hit, drawing in some impressive viewing figures for the network over in the US – including having over 10 million viewers for its premiere. And with the fourth season having finished this March, FOX has decided to pull the plug on the series.

Many fans of the show had started to expect the worst once Season 4 was reduced from an 18-episode season to a 13-episode season.

According to Variety, Sleepy Hollow’s fourth season averaged 1.9 million viewers per episode, which was a decline that FOX execs weren’t happy with and thus scrapped the show completely.
