With last week bringing word that Kiefer Sutherland was joining the upcoming Flatliners remake, the redo has finally been given a release date.

It’s been revealed that Sony Pictures will be releasing their Flatliners remake on August 18th, 2017.

As well as Sutherland, who played Nelson in the 1990 original, also on board are Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemens. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s Niels Arden Oplev will be directing.

The original Flatliners centred on a group of medical students who would purposely die and bring each other back from the dead so that they could explore near death experiences.
