Saban’s Power Rangers reboot is in UK cinemas as of today, but that’s apparently far from the last we’ll be seeing of the titular heroes.

From the mouth of Haim Saban, founder of Saban Entertainment, this first movie is the start of what’s hoped to be a six-picture story. Speaking to Variety, Saban explained, “We already have a six-movie story arc. If this film is as successful as I hope on March 24th, on March 25th we’ll have the first story meeting for Movie No. 2.”

Now, it’s all well and good having heavy plans for multiple movies, that obviously all depends on how well the first film does. On that front, the early buzz and advanced reviews aren’t exactly, well, favourable on the Dean Israelite-helmed Power Rangers. Still, we’ll have to see what mass opinion says and, most importantly for Saban, how much of the ever-important dollar, dollar the movie brings in at the box office.
