As CBS’ Star Trek: Discovery edges ever closer to finally hitting the small screen, the network has moved to announce several new additions for this impending new series.

Taken from CBS, the new cast members are:

Shazad Latif will star as “Lieutenant Tyler,” a Starfleet officer in the Federation. Latif is known for his role as Dr. Henry Jekyll in the television series Penny Dreadful. Latif was originally announced in the role of “Kol,” now played by Kenneth Mitchell.

Rekha Sharma will star as “Commander Landry,” the security officer of the Starship Discovery. Sharma’s television credits include Battlestar Galactica and The 100.

Kenneth Mitchell will star as “Kol,” a commanding officer in the Klingon Empire. Mitchell’s television credits include the fan-favorite Jericho on CBS, The Astronaut Wives Club and Frequency.

Clare McConnell will star as “Dennas,” a leader in the Klingon Empire. McConnell’s film credits include Dim the Fluorescents, slated for release this fall.

Damon Runyan will star as “Ujilli,” a leader in the Klingon Empire. Runyan’s television credits include Suits, Supernatural and Gangland Undercover.

They will join a Star Trek: Discovery cast that includes Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, Sonequa Martin-Green as Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, Doug Jones as science officer Saru, Anthony Rapp as fellow science officer Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as chief medical officer Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as junior Starfleet officer Connor, Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly, James Frain as Sarek, astrophysicist and father of Spock, Chris Obi as Klingon leader T’Kuvma, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, a Klingon commander, Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd, and Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou.

Taking place a decade before the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS and then CBS All Access in the US, with the series to have a home on Netflix in the UK and a whole host of other countries.

At present, the show is still awaiting a confirmed premiere date, although the last we heard on that was that Discovery should be arriving at some point in the second of the year.
