Anybody who stuck with Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. right up until the end were ultimately rewarded with a final batch of episodes that were of genuine quality. Expertly utilising the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time (we’re going to pretend that frankly embarrassing tie-in with THE DARK WORLD never happened), the events of THE WINTER SOLDIER turned the show on its head and re-energized proceedings. Throw in a few very interesting final twists (Whoppercock, how could you!), reveals (is that… a Kree?!), and a cryptic cliffhanger (what’s up with Coulson?) and fans are now counting down the days until the gang are back on our screens. A far cry to how depressed a lot of us were around episode 4 when we’d come to accept the show wasn’t living up to our earlier expectations.
