First Plot Details for SAW: LEGACY; Tobin Bell Returning

Due in cinemas this Halloween, the first real plot details are now being revealed for Saw: Legacy.

Bloody Disgusting has the scoop, with the major news being that Tobin Bell will actually be returning to the franchise in some form. Bell’s Jigsaw, of course, has technically been dead for over a decade by this point.

The outlet also reports that the film will open with a whole host of bodies turning up at various places across the city, with each victim having met a grizzly and unique demise. These bodies all soon start to indicate that this is the work of one man: John Kramer, aka Jigsaw. Given that this infamous villain has been long dead by this point in the franchise, all eyes are on the possibility of an apprentice having taken over Jigsaw’s dirty work. Incidentally, neither Costas Mandylor or Cary Elwes, who have both previously played apprentices of Jigsaw’s, are returning for the film.

Already confirmed for this eighth Saw effort are Mandela Van Peebles, Hanna Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert and James Gomez.

Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, Saw: Legacy is currently set for an October 27th release.
