With Lionsgate and Saban now in production on a new Power Rangers movie, the first official picture has surfaced of the film’s titular team.
Released via EW, this first still shows the principal cast of Dace Montgomery’s Jason/Red Ranger, RJ Cyler’s Billy/Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott’s Kimberly/Pink Ranger, Becky G’s Trini/Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin’s Zack/Black Ranger all together, although sans costume. The film will also feature Elizabeth Banks as the villainous Rita Repulsa.
Right, here’s that still:
The official word on Power Rangers reads:
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
To be directed by Project Almanac’s Dean Israelite, Power Rangers is currently set for a March 24th, 2017 release.SHARE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW OR ON TWITTER @STARBURST_MAG
