With Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin confirmed to be playing the Man of Steel when Supergirl returns later this year for its second season, The CW and DC Entertainment have given us a first look at the actor in his full Superman garb.

For fans of Supergirl, you’ll be well aware of the Last Son of Krypton’s presence in the Melissa Benoist-starrer’s first season, although he was basically restricted to sundrenched shots and MSN Messenger conversations. In Season 2, though, which sees the show move from CBS to The CW, we’ll be getting a fully fleshed-out Superman in at least two episodes.

Here’s the full reveal of this latest incarnation of the Big Blue Boy Scout alongside his cousin, Kara:

In addition to the returning regular faces from the first season, Season 2 of Supergirl has seen Floriana Lima brought in as Maggie Sawyer, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and one-time Wonder Woman Linda Carter as the President of the United States. And now that the show calls The CW its home, that means it shares the same world as Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, with a four-show crossover event already confirmed for later this year.

Supergirl’s second season will debut on October 10th in the US, with a UK return expected to follow shortly after.
