With Hawkman and Hawkgirl due to become staples of The CW’s upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the network has released the first official look at their take on the characters.

Falk Hentschel is the show’s Carter Hall/Hawkman and will debut in the next Arrow and Flash crossover episode. As for Ciara Renee’s Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, she’s already been glimpsed ever-so briefly in the Season 1 finale of The Flash. The duo get their powers from the ancient Egyptian hawk god known as Horus, with Hawkman and Hawkgirl set to reincarnate through the annuals of time.

Now for that first look we promised…

The official word on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow reads:

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

As well as Hentschel and Renee, the show will also feature Brandon Routh as The Atom, Victor Garber as Martin Stein, Caity Lotz as White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson (believed to be the show’s take on Cyborg, Black Lightning or Static Shock). The ragtag group will come together to tackle the threat of Casper Crump’s immortal villain, Vandal Savage.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow debuts next year.
