The short strand section of Film 4 FrightFest, held in London’s Vue Cinema, Leicester Square over August Bank Holiday weekend has been announced and there’s plenty of fantastic shockers to watch out for!

The Short Film Showcase has been expanded this year to take in three different strands and screen over thirty films from all around the world.
Among some of the titles to look out for are: Coward, the directorial debut of former Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan, and the latest from Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Shevenge.

Izzy Lee’s A Favor (reviewed here) and Gigi Saul Guerrero’s El Gigante, which was recently announced as being expanded into a full feature.

There will also be the world premieres of Surgery, directed by the Clemens Brothers, sons of the legendary screenwriter Brian Clemens – the man who created The Avengers and The Professionals for TV – and Ghosting, the latest from writer/director James Moran (Cockneys vs Zombies).

Throughout the short strands will be the first chance to see six horror-themed shorts entitled A Moment of Horror from the new All4 – which is replacing 4OD. They will then be available exclusively on All4.

Film 4 FrightFest takes place from August 27th – 31st and some day passes and single tickets are available now.
